As some of you who have been reading The Kraken’s Wake may know, I have been running lately. The main character of my stories, Penn Darvel, is a runner as well. However, Penn is much better than I will ever be. Anyway, I came across a free code to one of the many Spartan Race runs they have all across the country and even in Canada and the UK. I saw that they even have some events in Fenway, Miller Park, and Citizen’s Bank Park. As a Phillies fan, I think it would be awesome to compete on the same field as my boys.

Join me in the #1 obstacle race according to Outside Magazine. Imagine the thrill of crossing the finish line with legs and lungs burning; knowing that you committed to something and finished it. Don’t just watch movies and shows where other people give their all; become a spartan warrior. My stories all require imagination, and I confess that when I am running and I want to give up; I think, Would Penn stop? Would Rasul give up? If I stop, Rainor will win out. It may sound childish, but it keeps my legs moving. In my last race, I was running right behind a muscled out air force guy. With about 100 yards to go, I took him. Then, with about 30 yards to go he attempted to take me. I thought my energy was spent until I heard and felt that muscle head at my hip. I out sprinted him easily in the end. The point is, push yourself. Step out of the comfort zone and try; you may be able to accomplish so much more than you thought.
So, back to the FREE CODE. I have embedded the words SPARTAN RACE, just as you see it here, in one of my older posts. The first person to find the words, wins the code. Just email me at email@example.com and tell me where you found the words SPARTAN RACE. This is potentially a $100 reward. The competition is open starting 5-22-13. For those of you not interested in the free code, here is a link that will save you 15%. http://bit.ly/spartanwarrior
I would like to thank Dan Krueger for the codes. I appreciate him helping me drum up some interest in my site. Now let’s get out there and keep our bodies as sharp as our minds. The greatest warriors are forged in battle.
