New Premise for the Kraken’s Wake

11 Jul

Teachers

My schooling is making it very hard to post the kind of short stories I would like. So, I plan on sharing with all of you my dealings with school as well as my pictures and stories (as I can write them). My hope is that, by sharing my experiences, I can somehow help or inspire someone else.

My goal is to become a high school English teacher. It would be nice to also attempt to coach a sport of some sort while I am teaching, but this not a necessity.

Join me as this journey takes a new path.

I have been an English teacher for 30 years. Writing and telling stories are things you MUST do to do the job well. But coaching? Where will you find time in your 50+ hour work week reading student work, planning lessons, dealing with writers who will not edit, and a million other things? I wish you well.

Well, right now I work a full time job, go to school full time, exercise regularly, and still manage time for my wonderful wife and precious boy. So, I hope I can manage it, but if I cannot then it wasn’t meant to be.

You are a busy man! Such an extensive list makes me tired just looking at it =)

Your work is well worth reading, and it is our requirement to accept that real life can slow down our writing pace.

I look forward to the life lessons and experiences from your classes =)

Thank you very much. I have a good three weeks to catch up on my stories. Next semester I am taking three different LIT courses, so I am nervous about that.

Do you prefer to be kept so busy?

To churn out a new ‘Ties That Bind’ and ‘Demon Wrought’ in one day is a monumental effort!

I sent an email to your mail@oliveloft account regarding a proposed project that Paul Davis mentioned to me.

The stories continue to build in my mind, even when I do not always have the time to get them out.
I am glad I got to take them for a walk.
        More to come

One’s mind can be like a desk covered in post-it notes and loose sheets of paper, when one’s mind has so many ideas floating through it concurrently.

Sent an email to yourself and Paul with the worlds, justifications, and draft premise. Would love to hear yours and Paul’s thoughts when a spare minute is available to peruse =)
